“Amy Friedl Stoner’s Dreamchaser was one of the most stylish, assured, intelligent, entertaining New York cabaret debuts I have had the pleasure to witness. Long before the end of the delightful evening, it was clear that she could sing pretty much anything. She handled standards like a veteran...inhabited Jason Robert Brown’s ‘Another Life’ in a way that recalled the best of Joni Mitchell...made Prince’s ‘Kiss’ a new generation’s version of ‘Fever’ and ‘Dust Bowl Days’ (Natalie Merchant, Rob Buck) a poor mother’s Steinbeckian cry of despair that pierced the heart. Stoner ended her high-spirited encore of ‘Do Nothin’ Till You Hear from Me’ with a spoken ‘See you soon!’ One can only hope that it’s a promise she will keep.”
“I was skeptical about Amy delivering across such an expanse, but brother, she served it up strong. Her voice is stunning. She smoothly transitioned from one genre to the next. The transparent truth that shines through is that she needs to do this. It’s not a nice thing, it’s THE thing.”
“Amy Friedl Stoner has shown up on the cabaret scene as a confident, classy performer... Her passionate choruses moved the soul.”
